New Year Resolutions

Each year, as the holidays wind down and I've stuffed myself to the brim with more food and sweets than I thought possible - I quickly transition into "resolution" mode like so many others.  I start a boring, unoriginal list of resolutions to eat more vegetables and exercise regularly.  Honestly, it's a bummer to be taking down the Christmas decorations and trying to convince myself to do more Jillian Michael's work outs this year.  As a result, I decided to change my perspective.  I was inspired by a quote from a relative who recently passed away -
"Enjoy the journey wherever it takes you..."
I am going to embrace 2013 with open arms, trusting that God has a plan for me.  I am typically a planner and "to do" lister, but this year I am going to try and let go a little bit and learn to enjoy each and every day - even if it doesn't go my way.  I am trusting that God's plan for me is far better than the one I could ever imagine for myself.  Yes, I am going to try by best to exercise regularly and eat better, but I am also going to spend less time trying to control every aspect of my life and instead embrace the unknown.  I am going to enjoy this journey wherever it takes me, because it's the only one I've got.

Happy New Year, you guys and thank you for your support and kind words on this blog.

Wishing you a happy and healthy 2013!

  1. I think I need to take notes. I am a control freak and planner as well, but sometimes we just need to hand over the reigns to the one who knows best ;)
