Sunrise | Sunset

|  Watching the sunrise on our last day in Kauai  |

There is something about watching the sun rise and set that makes me feel so much more alive.  Each night as I sat on the beach next to my husband, feeling the sand between my toes, the fresh scent of salt water, the sound of waves crashing on the beach and the colorful sunset that God painted the sky with... all of my senses were heightened by the natural beauty surrounding me.  The kind of beauty that silences a crowd.  Looking around to find dozens of strangers, all quietly watching the sunset together was breathtaking.  For that short moment in time, it seemed as though troubles were forgotten and the only thing in focus was the sun setting on the horizon.  A sunset is something that we, as humans are not capable of creating which makes it all the more powerful.  As I sat and looked around at my surroundings - the landscape, ocean and people all focused on the same thing, I thought... this is life.  Each night after watching the sunset, I was left with the refreshing realization of how much more there is to life then what I tend to get caught up in.

I am so thankful for the time we spent on Kauai - soaking up sunshine and the beauty of this island.  It was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am forever grateful.
