Job Interview

Interview Outfit

A friend of mine had a job interview for a graphic design position this week and asked me to put together an inspiration outfit.  She wanted to look professional, but also convey her creative side.  This outfit is built upon simple, yet classic shapes that make for a clean-lined look that is perfect for a job interview.  I like to pair a simple blouse with a structured blazer and trousers that are flattering to body type.  Make sure shoes are comfortable and easy to walk in!  Lastly, keep jewelry simple and skip the perfume.  Here are some of my tips to keep in mind when styling a similar interview outfit:
+ keep your overall look simple (not showy).
+ wear neutral tones instead of loud, bright colors.
+ jewelry should be simple and kept to a minimum.
+ mix in a nod to current trends without going over the top "trendy" (for example: blazers are trendy right now, but they are also a classic style that has been around for a long time).
+ add some interest to the outfit with an accessory or one item of clothing to keep the overall look from seeming too boring.

*Most importantly - don't forget to smile, relax and think positively...your outfit will only take you so far.  Good luck!

(This outfit is participating in friday's fancies so go see the rest!)
