Barbie + Ken

I was one of those girls that was obsessed with Barbie.  I know that a lot of people disagree with young children looking up to a dis-proportionate doll, but for me it was a way to use my imagination and be creative.  I was a "girly girl" who loved to dress up her dolls and do their hair.  So sue me.  I played Barbie by myself and also with my neighbor friend up the street.  We would turn a mailbox into a penthouse flat (I probably called it a house back then, but looking back it was definitely a penthouse flat).  We would open the door of the mailbox and hang a bicycle helmet from it as the swing that Barbie had on her deck.  I even had a pink Corvette - Barbie sized, of course.  That was big time - friends were jealous of that 'vette.  I attempted to find a photo of the Corvette via Google, but apparently they don't make that model anymore.  Anyway, this topic leads me to something that has surfaced on the internet - Barbie & Ken got married and all of the details of the big day were captured on camera!  The child version of me would have been very excited about this (okay, maybe the adult version is excited too) and seeing as my motto for this blog is to "treasure all of life's little joys" - I figured this is one of those little joys that should be treasured and shared with you all.  Sometimes we need a little something to lighten the load and put a smile on our face...right?  Either way, the photos are hilarious and I'm sure you will get a kick out of them.
