Wine Tasting in Napa Valley

Photobucket

My sister in law is considering going to Napa for a girl's trip and I just so happened to do the same thing last year so she asked for suggestions.  We had a blast and I wouldn't have changed a thing about our trip so I thought it would be fun and informative to do a guide to Napa (and the surrounding area) on the places we went and the things we did (which, by the way mostly consisted of wine tasting).  I mean, it's Napa, what else are we supposed to do? I can think of one other thing: eat! Yep - we did a lot of that too!

DAY 2

{After grabbing some essentials for the day: coffee, sandwiches, cheese, bread, fruit,  and champagne - we hopped in a limo, toasted to Jamie's birthday with a sparkler in her champagne glass (shhh! I don't think that was allowed) and made our way to the first winery of the day}

{and back at the Hotel...12 hours later}

We ended the day with dinner out to a thai restaurant followed by a stop at an Irish Pub that turned out to be much more eventful then we had imagined.

To top it all off, I received this in the mail a few weeks ago:

Helpful tid bits:  It probably comes as no surprise that Napa can be expensive.  I went expecting to pay around $25 per tasting, but ended up spending closer to $5 or less per tasting with all of the coupons we had.  If you plan ahead, there are ways to get around spending big bucks at wineries.  Some of the girls found coupons online for discounted tastings such as "two for the price of one." Look around for deals and plan to stop at the wineries that offer discounts or free tours.  Another idea is to skip the tasting and instead buy a glass of wine and enjoy it out on the patio of a winery instead of standing along the crowded counter with all of the tasting tourists.
