DIY: Fruit Crate turned Side Table

Photo taken by me

I found this fruit crate in my parent's garage and loved the character of it.  I wanted to find a new way to re-purpose the crate and decided on a side table that can be used next to a bed, chair, sofa or even on its own.  I was in need of a bedside table and knew this would be perfect for our guest bedroom.  I figured that a guest will not need much in the way of storage, just a place to put a few personal items.

How To:
The transformation of the fruit crate box into a side table was very simple.  I measured the size of one end and gave the measurements to a glass shop.  They cut me a piece of glass with finished edges.  To keep the piece of glass from sliding, attach silicone or rubber dots to each of the four corners.

You now have an inexpensive DIY side table full of character!
