Spend Less $, Give More, Love All

During the past few years for Christmas, I have practiced Advent Conspiracy. If you haven't heard of this movement, you may be thinking this is some weird cult or something. It isn't. The concept behind Advent Conspiracy is simple - get back to what Christmas is all about (a time to celebrate the birth of a savior whose story is about promise, hope and love). Christmas shouldn't be spending hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on gifts that you don't even feel like shopping for. Don't get me wrong, I love shopping and giving gifts and I still plan on doing that this year. However, I am going to try and stress less over what to get everyone, spend less money and make more gifts for my lovelies. Hello, DIY! Time is running short and DIY gifts can be time consuming, but we will see what I come up with. I already have one little craft project in the works. Rather than buying a material gift for that special someone, spend the day doing something together and just enjoy each others company. Give more love by volunteering at a food bank or reading to children in your community.

Last year I made wine bottle bags out of fun patterned fabric. Check out this great idea from Grey Likes Weddings:

  1. I don't know what is better....these or last year's Christmas craft. Well, actually I do, these are so cute!

  2. Thanks for sharing the Advent Conspiracy link!! I'm so inspired now; I needed that reminder : )

What a cute idea for gift wrapping! You might also like this project:
